Hi. We love cats and we are not the only ones.
We started SocialCatWork because we realised there was a gap between people wanting to rescue cats and shelters taking them in. Although shelters are usually full, there have always been people willing to share the various responsibilities of ultimately getting a stray cat into a permanent adoptive home. We couldn’t believe there wasn’t already a network to match all these people along the way – so we created one!
We are raising funds to develop this network through its initial phases and then eventually onto more ambitious goals.
We’re the real bosses here, and everybody knows it!

I’m Daniel and I’m a media designer.
I studied media design 10 years ago, and now I work on 3D animations and product design. One day, a Siberian forest cat (Sven) stepped into my life, then Susi (house cat) followed. I never thought they would have such a big impact on my life, but I must admit I can’t imagine life without these furry cats.
Although I’m a designer and am creative for a living, sometimes I need and want to refresh my creative side – examining the current animal-rescue models and seeing where I can make some good changes turned out to be the perfect answer. Now I can’t wait to see how far SocialCatWork can go!

I’m Karina and I’m a vet.
I studied veterinary science in Budapest, Hungary, and I’ve also trained in the UK, France, and Austria. People think the most exciting thing was that I got to travel, but what I really loved was seeing how animal welfare was carried out in different countries. I never thought that all my training and traveling would one day lead to a conversation over coffee (with Daniel) about a very cute stray cat in my clinic. That conversation led to some serious brainstorming, some other conversations with friends, and SocialCatWork was born! Everything I’ve experienced has prepared me for this very thing!
